Skating Locations

Arenas (Indoor)
Indoor arenas are open year-round for public skating, shinny hockey, hockey, ringette, figure skating, and more. In the summer some neighbourhood arenas have non-ice sports activities like lacrosse, ball hockey, and inline hockey. 

Ice Rinks (Outdoor)
Outdoor ice rinks are open when weather permits in Castle Downs Park, Mill Woods Park, Jackie Parker Park, Rundle Park, City Hall, Victoria Park Oval, and Hawrelak Park.
The Edmonton Sport Council has a listing of all Community League outdoor rinks.

Outdoor Skating
Skaters have several choices for public outdoor ice skating surfaces in Edmonton, including stormwater lakes when the ice is at least 6 inches thick.

Free Drop-In Public Skating

Public Skating Schedule
Public skating times for indoor arenas. Public skating is free. Staff will be onsite to supervise all public skating.

Drop-In Shinny Hockey

Shinny Hockey
Shinny hockey times for indoor arenas. Admission passes must be purchased in advance. Shinny hockey is divided up into age divisions to ensure safety. Full equipment is required.

Ice Bookings
Book indoor arena ice time for your group. Perfect for skating clubs, figure skating clubs, hockey teams, professional athletes, and sports groups, as well as for special events and skating parties. Call 780-442-4546 or email arenabookings@edmonton.ca.

Room Bookings
