Come Together: Edmonton's Celebration of Paul McCartney

Join the celebration and transform Paul McCartney’s first visit to Edmonton into a city celebration of this British icon and his music.

It's no surprise that concert tickets for this musical legend sold out quickly, but there is still a way for Paul McCartney fans to join in on the excitement!

Come to City Hall and Sir Winston Churchill Square from November 26 – 29 to pay tribute to Paul's musical legacy and enjoy a variety of free Beatles and McCartney-themed music, entertainment and activities.

Each day during the lunch hour, the carillon in the Friendship Tower will ring out with McCartney/Beatles tunes performed live by a local pianist. British-themed décor will adorn the inside of City Hall, and music composed by Paul McCartney will be piped into the City Room and out onto the Plaza.

To commemorate McCartney's visit, 102A Avenue will be re-named 'Abbey Road' during the week-long celebration. Bring your camera and get a photo of yourself walking across the iconic crosswalk, which has been recreated on the roadway with temporary paint!

A Hard Day's Night

Join us in the City Room to watch one of the most funny and unique movies ever made. A Hard Day's Night is a 1964 British black and white comedy starring The Beatles – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Filmed before The Beatles had hit it big in America, the movie follows a day in the life of the Fab Four, as they travel to a TV appearance and an evening concert, experiencing various misadventures along the way. And of course there's the music! With unforgettable classics like 'If I Fell,' 'Tell Me Why,' and 'And I Love Her,' you'll sing along for the full 90 minutes.

It's not just a fun comedy and a great musical, it's also a telling look into the music scene of the 1960s and the hysteria generated by the band's popularity.

Live Kisses

Don't miss this screening of Paul McCartney’s newly released film Live Kisses – a stunning 13-song movie that captures the magical night of February 9, 2012 in Los Angeles – coincidentally, the 48th anniversary of The Beatles’ U.S. TV debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.

In the intimate surroundings of Capitol Studios, where Paul recorded much of his 'Kisses On The Bottom' album, he was reunited with the all-star musicians who joined him on the record to bring the songs to life for a once in a lifetime performance. A film no McCartney fan should miss!

Come Together: Edmonton's Celebration of Paul McCartney

Wednesday November 28

No, Paul McCartney will not be in City Hall, but that doesn't mean we can't generate some 'Beatlemania' of our own!

Enjoy a performance by Beatles cover band Pepperland. Then gather around the grand piano and take part in an old-fashioned sing-a-long from the Paul McCartney song book.
