-
Live Music- Featuring musician Lisa Nicole Grace. Soak up the blend of folk/pop and country tunes that Lisa and her band create during this late evening opening. Lisa released her first full length record “Prairie Belle” in October 2011. She celebrated the release on a chartered streetcar performance atop the High Level Bridge and followed up this release with a Western Canadian Tour sponsored by Via Rail taking her across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This past February Lisa was awarded 2 grants to travel to the Folk Alliance International Conference in Memphis, Tennessee where she performed a private showcase and attended song writing workshops. She continues to write and perform right here in Edmonton.
-
Toe Tapping Line Dancing – From 6:45 to 7:15pm join a talented instructor in centre court and learn a line dance or two. Kick up your heels and let loose to some toe tapping county music.
-
Take a Tour - Our knowledgeable public interpretation staff will be taking guest on tours of the pyramids throughout the evening. Join in on one of the “Not Just a Leaf” tours at 6, 7 or 8pm and learn something new during your visit.
-
Guess the Pumpkin Weight – Nothing says Country Fair like a good old fashion “guess the weight” game. Ponder our beautiful pumpkin and cast your vote. We’ll put all the successful guesses into a hat and draw to determine the winner of a fabulous basket from the Muttart Gift Shop. If no one guesses the correct weight we’ll look for the closest one. Good luck!
-
Herb Potting – Make a small eco-friendly pot for the herb seedlings you’ll take home from the event. Simply pop your herbs in a windowsill pot when you get home, add water, and enjoy fresh herbs for weeks to come!
-
Local Market Tables – Take a moment to browse the tables of local artisans. You’ll love what talented is on display!
-
Sculpting Demo – Enjoy a demonstration from the Sculptor’s Association of Alberta. Watch as they create a masterpiece.
-
Celebrate National Stitch in Public Day – Join members of the Edmonton Needlework Guild as they celebrate National Stitch in Public Day. Watch as artists create fantastic works of fabric art and learn a few tricks along the way. Take a moment to try a stitch or two yourself and you might find you're hooked on stitching!
