Green Team
Modelling environmental responsibility
The zoo's green team is responsible for reviewing the zoo's practices and procedures. This includes energy use, eco-procurement, waste reduction, atmospheric protection, water conservation, low-impact landscaping, green building practices and ecological stewardship.
The goal is to reduce the zoo's impact on the environment and model appropriate behaviours to guests of the facility. By modelling environmental responsibility, and engaging and educating visitors, the green team hopes to encourage individuals to make changes in their own lives to benefit our planet.
