Conservation & Environment
Passionately practice conservation and environmental stewardship
Staff at the zoo work with international organizations on ethical and strategic conservation projects, either actively raising animals in species survival programs or raising money and awareness to support initiatives in other parts of the world.
- Race for Animal of the Year!
- Species Survival Plan
- Red Panda Network
- Makira Conservation Fund Initiative
- Focus on Arctic Biodiversity
- Polar Bears International
- Save the Frogs
- Other projects supported by the Edmonton Valley Zoo
The Edmonton Valley Zoo team is also passionate about the natural world and promoting environmental responsibility. The zoo models green strategies in all it does to promote environment responsibility and reduce its own environmental footprint.
