Canada Day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo
Date: Monday July 1, 2013
Time: 11am–4pm
O Canada! Our home and native land. Are you proud to be Canadian...well we sure are! On July 1, 2013, the Edmonton Valley Zoo will be celebrating Canada Day and the Zoo’s 54th Birthday! Experience an incredible array of entertainment and special surprises to help mark this momentous occasion!
Visit the Canadian animals at the zoo and enjoy mini enrichment talks about these incredible creatures and what makes them truly “Canadian”. Join us in singing “O Canada” and then enjoy a bite of cake with our magnificent red & white Canadian mini-cupcake display!
For something a little more active, the little ones will love the scavenger hunt, the Adventure Bus, the Preschool Pitstop or the Giant National Geographic Parks Canada Map! There will also be educational talks, live music, hands-on science experiments and airbrushed Canadian tattoos!
Last but not least, make sure you help us sing “Happy Birthday” to Lucy the elephant! We will be celebrating her 38th birthday by surprising her with a massive maple flavoured red & white popsicle! What a cool way to cap off Canada Day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo!
