Birthday Party Packages

You'll have a wild time at the zoo with our themed birthday parties! Meet some of our smaller zoo animals, play games, have outdoor adventures and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Birthday Parties are available year round, but space is limited. Parties must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance. Book earlier to avoid disappointment! Payment for the program must be made at the time of booking.

Animal Alphabet

Ages 4-6

Be an alphabet detective. Search for hidden letters that will lead you to visit a variety of animals. Give a treat to an animal, and have some hands-on encounters with some of the creatures you meet along the way.

Zoo Safari

Ages 4-12

Put on your safari hat — we are heading out on a grand adventure! During this 'zoo-mazing' adventure you will get close to the animals with encounters and enrichments. Tour the zoo, meet some critters and have a howlin' safari style birthday.

Zoo Clue

Ages 7-9

Solve a mystery at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Our program leader will play the part of a master zoo detective as children are led on a scavenger hunt for clues. During their investigation, they'll meet and touch a variety of animals.

Be a Zookeeper

Ages 7-12

Zookeepers are always busy! They prepare meals, invent toys for animals and care for sick and orphaned animals. You and your party will find out firsthand what it's like to be a zookeeper.

Birthday Party Packages Details

All birthday parties are 2 hours in length.
Parties are $180.
You can stay longer to allow time for gift opening and cake by booking a room after the party program. $30/hour
- Please note that party rooms are unavailable for cake and presents during the program without a room rental.
A maximum of 30 guests are permitted for all programs except "Be a Zookeeper", which has a maximum of 20 guests (this total includes children, plus the minimum number of supervising parents, siblings, and additional parents).
A minimum of 2 adults must be with the group at all times for supervision; 4 are recommended for group sizes of 30.
Additional guests above the maximum number stated, including adults or children, will be required to pay applicable admission costs and will not be able to participate in the program activities. We encourage additional adults wanting to attend the program to pay regular admission and enjoy the zoo on their own. The additional adults can rejoin your group once the program is over.
The birthday child receives a free t-shirt.
Party bags are available for $2.85 per bag. Total number of party bags must be confirmed a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the party date. No refunds or additions will be accepted after the confirmation deadline.
Party bags include 2 pieces of candy/gum, 2 toys (1 of which may be stickers), and free child admission passes to Fort Edmonton Park, Edmonton Valley Zoo, John Janzen Nature Centre, Kinsmen Sports Centre and Muttart Conservatory.

Cancellation Policy & Fees

Programs run rain or shine. You must call 780-496-2601 to cancel or re-schedule your program.
You may reschedule your program, at no charge, within the same calendar year.
A fee of $50 per party program will be charged if notice of cancellation is given less than 14 days (2 weeks) in advance of the party date.
The full program fee will be charged if less than 48 hours notice is given.
