Birds

Get closer to our friends in high places
Except for bats, birds are the only animals with backbones that can fly. These amazing creatures are found in every climate and geographic location imaginable. Colourful, graceful and musical, these feathered animals are beautiful to watch.
What makes birds different from other animals?
- They have feathers instead of hair.
- They have hollow bones, slender legs and a beak instead of heavy jaws and teeth.
- They reproduce by laying hard-shelled eggs.
