In March 2014, the City of Edmonton was honoured to host the 7th and final Truth and Reconciliation Commission National Event. At the event, Edmonton’s mayor committed to creating an urban Aboriginal youth leadership initiative as part of ongoing activities to honour the legacy of the event and propel the process of reconciliation forward. The Journey to Reconciliation Leadership Conference is a formal step in supporting that commitment.
