The official opening ceremonies of Edmonton's 2015 Sexual Exploitation Week of Awareness.
Join dignitaries, community leaders and Edmontonians as they come together to inform, empower and inspire our community to stop sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
Flim Screening: Finding Dawn
Acclaimed Metis filmmaker Christine Welsh presents a compelling documentary that puts a human face on national tragedy: the murders and disappearances of an estimated 500 Aboriginal women in Canada over the past 30 years.

Shaping the Future Together - Youth Film & Panel Discussion
Date: April 22, 2015
Time: 7-9pm
Location: City Room, City Hall
Cost: Free
Hosted and moderated by Councillor Scott McKeen, this free public event will include a video showcase and hard talk, panel discussion on youth perspectives and services for sexual exploitation & sex trafficking.
Panelists include:
- Erin Harding, PSECA Regional Manager
- Detective Kurt Puhlmann, Edmonton Police Services - Vice Unit
- Rachelle Venne, Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women (IAAW)
- Kim York, PSECA Community Followup Worker

The evening will conlcude with a presentation on the ACT Alberta Community Action Plan by Amy Wilson.
The SEWG is a leadership group that links many networks in the city by facilitating discussions and decisions about the safety, health and quality of all people affected by sexual exploitation and trafficking.
