Journey to Reconciliation : Symbolic Walk and Community Round Dance
There's a rich and proud history of indigenous peoples in Edmonton.
From March 27-30, 2014, the City of Edmonton was honoured to host the 7th and final Truth and Reconciliation Commission National Event at the Shaw Conference Centre.
In March of 2015, the City of Edmonton, in partnership with Ever Active Schools, Edmonton Catholic School Board, Edmonton Public School Board, and local post-secondary learners, hosted a symbolic walk and community round dance to help propel the process of reconciliation forward.
The City of Edmonton is committed to supporting positive relationships with Aboriginal peoples based on mutual respect, compassion and, fundamentally, reconciliation.
