Evening Receptions & Banquets

Whether you want to celebrate your wedding, host a gala dinner and dance, or entertain a group of friends or colleagues, the Conservatory can accommodate your needs.  Where else in Edmonton can your guests dine and have the opportunity to explore the tropical forests, the deserts of the Mediterranean, spring time in the middle of winter and the fragrant and colourful flowers of the seasonal changing Feature Pyramid?

Reception & Banquet Fee (2016): $1600

We can accommodate up to 150 guests in the Centre Court area, with an adjacent area for dancing.

Services include use of the Centre Court for your celebration as well as the opportunity for your guests to wander through the four pyramids until midnight. There is a custom set up of 5' round tables and chairs, use of a wooden podium, wireless microphone and sound system, pre- and post-custodial services, Muttart host or hostess on site throughout the evening, security guard on site, and free parking for approximately 85 vehicles.

Access to the Centre Court is restricted during the day. Caterers and event planners can arrive at 5pm via the side entrance and can begin setting up in the Centre Court. All clean up must be done by 1am.

Catering Services

We can provide the names and telephone numbers of caterers who have catered successful events at the Conservatory. If you are interested in using a caterer who has not catered an event at the Muttart, arrangements need to be made for a facility orientation with one of our facility representatives. All caterers must be self-sufficient. The facility is not equipped for food preparation. With the exception of outdoor barbequing in a designated area, no food can be cooked on site. The client or caterer is  responsible for providing the barbeque. Please note that potluck events are not permitted.

Service of Alcohol

With consent from your facility representative and a valid liquor permit, alcohol can be served in the Centre Court, provided it is handled by individuals that have pro-serve. Failure to display the liquor permit will prohibit the service and consumption of alcohol. Service of all alcohol must end one hour prior to the end of your booked time. For information on the permits required for your event, please contact the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission at 780-447-8600.

Please note that neither food nor alcohol is permitted within the four pyramids or the outdoor courtyard.

SOCAN and Re:SOUND

If you are planning a special event that includes live or recorded music of any kind, you are required to pay a licence fee to SOCAN and Re-Sound. The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) and Re:Sound Music Licensing Company (Re:Sound) are collective societies. These collective societies can charge tariffs for the performance of music in public, according to section 19(2)(a) of the Copyright Act.
