Birthday parties are available year round, but space is limited. We recommend parties be booked at least 6 weeks in advance. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Birthday Party Packages
Celebrate your birthday and learn all about ladybugs and other cool insects helping our gardens grow! Get to know our little spotted friends while travelling through the different pyramids. Through activities, games and more, children will learn and play and take home a colourful plant they pot themselves.
To add some extra excitement, children will look up close and see the world from an insect’s eyes in our Pyramids. You’ll be seeing spots after this delightful and unique party.
Note: The Little Ladybug program does not include interaction with ladybugs, but participants will interact with plants and look at bugs.
Have a “blooming” great birthday no matter the weather by taking a journey through the jungle and a dance through the desert. In each of the pyramids, your party guests will participate in exciting activities and explore the beauty of plants from around the world. To top off a terrific party, each guest will get to pot their very own plant to take home.
Are you looking to build on your magical skills and understanding of botany and plants? Are you a wizard, witch, or magical creature in training? Then this birthday is for you!
Join us at the Muttart Conservatory where you will see first hand plants with magical and medicinal properties, you will experience how they are used and when to use them. You will get to tour our pyramids, create your own magical plant (make sure to remember how to cast the spell to use it!), and plant a plant to take home!
Group Size and Adult Supervision
The maximum number of people (including parents and siblings) for a daytime party is 25.
- At least 4 adults are required to stay with your group and assist with
supervision. Supervisors are to help the kids with program activities and making sure everyone is following the Muttart Conservatory guidelines. - Additional guests beyond the 25 maximum are not permitted.
Food and Beverage
You are responsible for supplying any food, drinks, plates and cutlery for your party.
There are no cooking facilities at the Muttart Conservatory. All food must be prepared prior to the party. If you are bringing food and/or drinks that you want to keep cool, we suggest you bring a cooler.
Remember that you are responsible for cleaning up any food, drinks or decorations that you bring and that you need to be ready to leave the party room at the end of the rental (as shown on your booking confirmation).
The café at Muttart, Café Bloom, can provide catering for birthdays. Please contact them directly if you are interested in finding out more.
Decorations
You may bring your own decorations for your party room, including:
- Tablecloths (we can supply reusable ones or you can bring your own)
- Table-top decorations
- Banners (hung with masking tape only)
- Non helium balloon arches and weighted helium balloons are allowed in Centre Court and the classrooms only
Items Not Permitted
- Sparklers
- Items needing to be tacked or nailed to walls
- Items needing to be hung from the ceiling
Program Cancellation
You are required to provide written notice of cancellation of the birthday party via email at artsattractionsbookings@edmonton.ca
- Programs cancelled with 30 days' or more notice will not be charged the program fee or cancellation fee
- Cancellations with 8-29 days notice are subject to a fee of 50% of the program fee
- Programs cancelled with less than 8 days notice, the full program fee will be charged
Programs run rain or shine. In the event of poor weather or emergency, email artsattractionsbookings@edmonton.ca to let us know you will not be coming
