Drop-In Programs
Saturday and Sunday Drop-In Programs
Join us at the John Walter Museum for a grand old time in the river valley.
A costumed interpreter will lead you through the original house of one of Edmonton’s most hard working pioneers and tell stories about the community of Walterdale that developed around him. You’ll also get hands-on experience with a different historic activity each week, based around our seasonal theme.
Hours
Sunday 1-4 pm (March 6 - November 27, 2016)
Saturday 1-4pm (July 2 – September 25, 2016)
Closed: January, February and December 2016
Admission: Free
Campfire Cookery
Join us on select Tuesday evenings throughout the summer for a taste of local history. Help us prepare some traditional fare cooked over an open fire or wood burning stove, and listen to stories about early settlement life and John Walter. Recipes will change every session and supply is limited. We will try to accommodate the dietary needs of our guests as best as possible.
Tuesday 6-9pm (July 12 and 26)
Tuesday 6-9pm (August 9 and 23)
Admission: Free
Discovery Room
Little ones will love to explore and play with the toys of yesterday. Be sure to visit our new Discovery Room upstairs in John Walter's second house.
