Did you know that the John Janzen Nature Centre is the oldest municipally-operated nature centre in Canada? Open since 1976, the John Janzen Nature Centre encourages visitors of all ages to have fun while learning more about the importance of Edmonton’s natural spaces.

To celebrate these past 40 years, the Nature Centre invites you to come explore, learn and enjoy what all they have to offer. Exciting activities will be happening throughout the day – fun for the whole family!

Fairy Fest

Did you know that fairies love fresh flowers and laughter? What about their love of music and rainbows? Come join us on 'find a rainbow day' as we celebrate everything fairies!

Create a fairy music maker, go on a nature scavenger hunt to find the flowers fairies love, get your face painted by the Purple team and much more! Lots of fun for the whole family.

Buzz, Buzz, Sting

Date: Sunday May 29, 2016
Time: 11am-3pm
Cost: Regular admission applies

It's a bug's life at John Janzen Nature Centre! Come learn about the daily life of bugs and bees. Check out live insects, learn about honey bees, Urban beekeeping, and much more. Activities will be available through the day for this family-friendly event.
