Drop-In Programs

Come explore the sights and sounds of winter with our drop-in programs for the whole family! Meet our animals, explore the trails, and find out what plants and animals are doing as we move from summer to fall to winter. We adapt the programs to meet the ages of the participants, so all are welcome!

Many of our drop-in programs take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather. In the event of inclement weather, we offer alternate activities indoors. Adult supervision is required for all children participating in these programs.

‘Grumpy Bird’ by Jeremy Tankard

You’ve seen Angry Birds, You’ve Seen Flying Birds, but have you ever seen a Grumpy Bird? This fun story tells the tale of how good friends can cheer up even the grumpiest of days.

TrailTales is a new partnership between Edmonton Public Library and the John Janzen Nature Centre combining literacy and physical activity in a wonderful adventure where your family and friends read a story and participate in self-directed activities while out in nature. TrailTales launches May 29 at 11am at the John Janzen Nature Centre!
