Edmonton Valley Zoo Farmer's Market

All summer long, stock up on your favourite farm fresh products, crafts and specialty foods at the Edmonton Valley Zoo's new Farmer's Market!

Every Tuesday this summer, beginning June 17, explore the market from noon-6pm in our new entry plaza.

The market is free to attend, however, if you wish to visit the zoo (and why wouldn't you?) regular summer admission rates apply.

We're looking forward to seeing you on Tuesdays this summer!

Dreamnight at the Zoo - Thank You to our Sponsors

In 2008 the Edmonton Valley Zoo embarked upon a brand new initiative called Dreamnight at the Zoo. The zoo hosted this event earlier in June - this is our seventh year participating! We could not have run this event without our amazing sponsors.

Thank You to our Sponsors

Christmas in Zoo-ly and Arctic Sea Ice Day

Date: Sunday July 13, 2014
Time: noon-4pm

Did you know it's winter in Australia right now?

Here at the Edmonton Valley Zoo we celebrate Christmas with our Australian animals. Join us for Australian animal crafts, airbrushed face painting, a scavenger hunt and so much more!

We will also be celebrating Arctic Sea Ice Day in partnership with Polar Bears International. Every summer, the polar bears of Hudson Bay are forced ashore when the sea ice melts in July. We invite you to join us in Arctic Shores to learn about global warming, animal adaptations, and what you can do to save the sea ice that polar bears depend on.

International Tigers Day Celebration

Date: Sunday July 27, 2014
Time: noon-4pm

Did you know there are only 3,200 tigers left in the world?

Join the Edmonton Valley Zoo as we celebrate International Tiger Day to learn all about these wonderful large cats and the other cats we have living at the zoo. Visit our two resident tigers, Amba and Taiga, as they receive some very special treats on their special day.

Animal Mythbusters

Edmonton Valley Zoo busting animal myths since 1959

Date: Sunday August 10, 2014
Time: noon-4pm

Do goats really faint? Does an elephant ever forget? Do porcupines shoot their quills?

Uncover the truth behind popular animal myths at the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s Animal Mythbusters. Edmontonians are invited to bring their detective hats and come armed with questions. A full day of activities are planned, including an animal myth touch table, hands-on science experiments, a myth-busting scavenger hunt and crafts for kids.

Nature’s Ultimate Survivors

Date: Sunday August 24, 2014
Time: noon-4pm

What do Bactrian Camels, Snowy Owls, Sichuan Takin and Harbour Seals have in common? They are all Ultimate Survivors!

Join us at the Edmonton Valley Zoo to learn all about animal adaptations and what our resident animals do to survive in the wild. How do animals stay warm? How to they catch their food? How do they see in the dark?
