Laggar Falcon

Scientific name: Falco jugger
Habitat: dry, open woodland
Diet: primarily other birds, also insects, lizards, small mammals
Life span: 15 years (20–25 in captivity)
Young: 3–5 eggs/clutch
Size: 600–750 g (1.3–1.7 lbs); females larger than males
Unlike most birds of prey, breeding pairs of laggar falcons will remain together throughout the entire year, not only during the breeding season. Females will often take over an abandoned crow's nest or lay eggs in a tree cavity.
Threats to laggar falcons include getting caught in traps set for larger falcons, and the accumulation of pesticides in the food chain.
