John Fry Sport Park

John Fry Sports Park

John Fry Park is located in south Edmonton between 28 Avenue and 31 Avenue. It is a staffed world class multi-use ball facility that has hosted numerous World Class and Canadian Championship level events.

Park History

Officially named on November 27, 1979, in recognition of John Wesley Fry (1876-1946), who was Mayor of Edmonton from 1937-1945.

John Fry played a significant role in refinancing Edmonton’s debt during the Great Depression and guiding Edmonton through World War 2.

Some of the organized sports clubs currently have lease arrangements with the City for preferential use of the site but the general public may also book the fields when available.

An additional 4.6 ha parcel within the site has been identified for a potential future recreational facility.
