Birthday Party Packages
Head for an outdoor birthday adventure in Edmonton’s beautiful River Valley!
Birthday parties are available seasonally and will run rain, shine or snow. Parties must be booked at least 8 weeks in advance, earlier to ensure you get the date, time and location of your choosing.
Our birthday packages include:
- 2-hour program, including all equipment, with knowledgeable instructors
- 1 hour room rental or outdoor fire, including fire supplies. We can provide hot dog/bannock sticks if requested
- The birthday child will receive an special gift from River Valley Programs
- Food is the responsibility of the party and not provided by River Valley Programs
Fees and Group Size
- $300 (3 hour package)
- The maximum group size is 30 people, including parents and guests. Additional guests may require additional staff and program costs
- A minimum of two adults must stay with the children to assist with supervision for groups over the age of 5 and four adults for groups under the age of 5

Little Squirrels Party
Ages 3.5-5
Let the squirrels run wild as they explore the River Valley. We’ll read a story, do a craft, play some seasonal games, go on a squirrel hunt and top it off with some parachute games. After the program, choose either an additional 1 hour room rental on site or a roaring fire outside that’s perfect for hot dogs and marshmallow treats. The birthday child will also get a special gift from River Valley Programs to remind them of all the fun they had!
Available during all seasons, at Whitemud Park and Rundle Park.
Little Squirrels Party Information Package
Explorers Snowshoe Party
Ages 5 - Adult
Try out different styles of snowshoes, play lots of games and go adventuring through Whitemud Park to check out the local wildlife. Choose either an additional 1 hour room rental in the Alfred H. Savage Building or a roaring fire outside, perfect for hot dogs and marshmallows treats. The birthday child will also get a special gift from River Valley Programs to remind them of all the fun they had!
Available during winter, at Whitemud Park.
Explorers Snowshoe Party Information Package
Alpine Adventurers Party
Ages 5 - Adult
Learn the basics of cross country skiing, play some games and then head out for a guided tour of the River Valley trails. After the program, enjoy an hour at one of the picnic sites, by a fire that's perfect for hot dogs and marshmallow treats. The birthday child will also get a special gift from River Valley Programs to remind them of all the fun they had!
Available during winter, at Victoria Park Driving Range or Goldbar Park.
Alpine Adventurers Party Information Package
Ultimate Survivor Party
Ages 8 – Adult
Want to be the ultimate survivor? Choose 2 of the following activities for your birthday adventure: a game of predator and prey, outdoor skills (fire building and shelter building), geocaching or orienteering. After you learn the basics, your leader will throw a birthday challenge your way to test your new skills. At the end of the program, choose either an additional 1 hour room rental on site or a roaring fire outside that's perfect for hot dogs and marshmallow treats. The birthday child will also get a special gift from River Valley Programs to remind them of all the fun they had!
Available during all seasons, at Rundle Park, Goldbar Park or Whitemud Park.
Ultimate Survivor Party Information Package
Bullseye Birthday Party
Ages 8 - Adult
Take aim and fire as you learn the basics of archery! We'll learn how to use 2 different kinds of bows, practice shooting and even play some target games. Think you've had enough practice? Take the ultimate test as you work through a series of challenges as a team to get to the final target round. After the program, enjoy an hour at one of the picnic sites, by a fire that's perfect for hot dogs and marshmallow treats. The birthday child will also get a special gift from River Valley Programs to remind them of all the fun they had!
Available during spring, summer, and fall at Victoria Park.
Bullseye Birthday Party Information Package
Long Rider Party
Ages 11 - Adult
Try out your skills on our longboards, play some games and then head out for a guided tour of the River Valley trails. After the program choose either an additional 1 hour room rental or a roaring fire perfect for hot dogs and marshmallow treats. The birthday child will also get a special gift from River Valley Programs to remind them of all the fun they had!
Available during spring, summer, and fall at Rundle Park.
Long Rider Party Information Package
Booking Information

Cancellation Policy
- River Valley Programs run rain, shine or snow. We will take weather breaks but the majority of our activities take place outside.
- You are required to provide written notice of cancellation of the birthday party via email at cmsoutdoorprograms@edmonton.ca or by phone 780-496-2983
- Cancellations with 4 – 30 days notice are subject to a fee of 50% of the program cost.
- Programs cancelled with less than 3 days (72 hours) notice will be charged the full program fee.
