Event Overview
Train, compete or volunteer in one of Edmonton's most exciting events. The Coronation Triathlon offers a challenging course for amateur and seasoned athletes and is officially sanctioned by the Alberta Triathlon Association. The annual Coronation Triathlon is one of Alberta's first urban triathlons.
Event Age Categories
The single event category will award medals for the top 3 placements in each category based on age and gender. Medals will be awarded for the top 3 teams and their overall placement.
Age divisions are as follows:
- 16-19 years
- 20-29 years
- 30-39 years
- 40-49 years
- 50-59 years
- 60+ years
- All Kids of Steel athletes will receive a finisher medal
Registration
Register as an individual, or a team of two or three and share the swim, bike and run components.
Deadline for registration is Thursday May 21, 2015.
Registrations will not be taken on-site and cannot be completed through 311.
Training
Qualified personal trainers are available to help you or your team train.
Drop-in swimming is offered at Bonnie Doon Leisure Centre, Hardisty Leisure Centre, Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre, Kinsmen Sports Centre, and Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre.

Race Package Pick-up
Location: United Cycle (7620 Gateway Boulevard NW, Edmonton)
Dates & Times: Friday May 22, 5-8pm and Saturday May 23, 1-5pm
Pre-Race Briefing
An optional race information session for participants will be held at Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre (13808 111 Avenue) Saturday May 23, 2015 from 3-4pm.
Note: The parking lot at Peter Hemingway will be closed for set up starting at noon on Saturday May 23, 2015. Parking will be available at Westmount Mall.

Times are tentative and are subject to change.
*Note: All adult athletes must be checked into transition by 6:45am to ensure there is no congestion in the transition area.
Medals will be presented as soon as results are available after the final athlete has finished the race course.
What Do I Do When I Arrive?
Drop your bike and gear in the transition area. Set up your transition. Remember to take anything you need for the swim component of the triathlon such as goggles, swim cap, etc. with you.
Report to the athlete check-in that will be located in the dryland area of Peter Hemingway Pool. Please provide your first and last name as well as any pertinent medical information.
Parking
Free parking for competitors and visitors is arranged at Westmount shopping centre, the surrounding residential area, and Woodcroft Community League.
There will be no parking at the Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre on race day. Overnight parking will not be permitted and vehicles may be towed.
There will be no parking at Telus World of Science during the 2015 race. Violators will be towed.
Participant and visitor parking will be pre-arranged in the vicinity of the Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre but will be limited. Participants may be dropped off and picked up.
Please arrive early to avoid congestion. Access to the Westmount shopping centre off of Groat Road will be available until 6:30am only.
Volunteers
The Coronation Triathlon requires over 100 volunteers to make this event happen. Please show respect and thank all these individuals who have given their time to make your race experience great.
