Teach with the City Arts Centre
We are always interested in meeting people for have a passion for art as well as a passion for sharing their expertise with the public. If you’d like to teach, we’ll help you make it happen!
We offer entry level classes, for both children and adults, in the following areas:
- painting & drawing
- dance (ballet, hip hop, multicultural, etc.)
- cooking
- pottery
- silversmithing
- sewing and knitting
- music (piano & guitar)
We offer 8 to 10 week sessions as well as weekend workshops.
Proposals and resumes are accepted on an on-going basis.
If you have a specific program idea, complete the Program Proposal form. It will help you work through the details we need to evaluate your idea.

Our home base is the City Arts Centre located in the Garneau neighbourhood (10943 84 Avenue) but we also offer classes in a variety of spaces operated by the City of Edmonton:
- pottery studios at City Arts Centre and ACT in Rundle Park
- kitchens at City Arts Centre, Clareview Rec Centre, Mill Woods
- multi-purpose classrooms for painting, drawing, music, knitting and sewing at all locations*
- dance studios at all locations*
* Facilities include Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre, The Meadows CRC, Commonwealth CRC, Clareview CRC.
