How We Work

We work with community partners, businesses, residents, police and communities to create strategies and safety projects that contribute to safer and more vibrant neighbourhoods and communities.

We use data, research and community knowledge to:

  • Develop strategies that reduce crime and disorder in neighbourhoods, business areas and public spaces
  • Use Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to make public spaces safer and more welcoming
  • Provide valuable information, resources and connections that enhance safety
  • Work collaboratively with community groups, organizations, and businesses by providing safety information through presentations and attending events

What We Do

We respond to repeated or significant incidents that may impact the security and safety of people across the city. Our aim is to reduce crime, victimization and social disorder in Edmonton.

Community After Incident Response provides support to communities impacted by traumatic events such as a homicide, public suicide and hate crimes.
